Job Groups
Job Groups view
A job group defines a group of nodes that can be used to run a background job, enabling you to leverage a group of nodes for a background job if one node is not available. You can configure a job group to assign jobs to the selected nodes randomly for expedience. After you configure your job groups you can use them to assign various background jobs, reporting jobs, EDI jobs, and other jobs to balance the load on the cluster and improve the performance of your N4 installation.
For upgrades from pre-2.6
If you are upgrading from a pre-2.6 release, you must create a job group for each of the nodes; otherwise, N4 is unable to run the existing background jobs.
To create a job group for each node in the cluster, select the Actions Create One Job Group per Node option.
After you perform this action, N4 adds a job group for each node. You can further modify these job groups as needed. For more information, see the Job Groups form (on page 1). Once all of the job groups are configured, assign appropriate job groups to various background jobs (on page 1), EDI jobs (on page 1), reporting jobs (on page 1), and Groovy jobs.
